STOVE

1. ALWAYS USE COOKER OUTDOORS: Never inside house, camper, tent, garage, carport or other enclosed or unventilated area. Never operate cooker near combustible material or under eves or over hang or house, patio, or garage.

2. Never leave cooker unattended while hot or in use. Never attempt to move cooker while in use. Allow cooker to cool before take down and storage.

3. The propane tank must always be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated space. Never store propane tank in an enclosed area (house, garage, etc.). If the cooker is to be stored indoors, disconnect the propane tank for outdoor storage.

4. This cooker is equipped to operate on propane gas from a standard refillable propane tank. The regulator and hose provided with the cooker must be used. The use of other regulators or no regulator could result in dangerous gas leakage and improper operation of burners. Never use the regulator and hose with any other appliance. Cylinders must be equipped with a shut off valve. In addition, all cylinders used with this unit must be marked in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT).

5. Never install or remove the propane tank while cooker is lighted, near flame, pilot light, or other ignition sources or while cooker is hot to touch.

6. Never store propane tank near high heat, open flames, pilot lights, direct sunlight or other ignition sources or where temperatures exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

7. Propane is heavier than air and can accumulate in low places. If you smell gas, leave the area immediately.

8. Inspect hose before each use. Protect hose from cuts, heat, abrasion, and pets. Never use a hose that shows signs of cracking or damage, NEVER ALLOW HOSE (S) TO CONTACT ANY PART OF THE COOKER WHILE IN USE OR WHILE COOKER IS STILL HOT. IN ADDITION BE AWARE OF WHERE YOU PLACE THE TANK SO THAT IT OR THE HOSES WILL NOT BE TRIPPED OVER.

9. Keep all connections and fittings clean. Make sure propane tank connector assembly valve outlet is clean. Check the rubber “O” ring on the regulator for damage and replace if cracked or cut.

10. During cooker set up, check all hoses and fittings for leaks using soapy water. (Never use a flame to check for leaks).

11. Hot oil and boiling water can cause serious burns if splattered. Always operate cooker on a level surface. Never allow children or pets around the cooker when in use. Never put frozen foods or water in hot oil.

12. Avoid oil or grease fires. Never overheat oils. Flash fires may result. Never overfill the cooking pots. Leave room for food and for bubbling hot water or oil. Use peanut oil if possible for best deep frying results.

13. Never use cooker near any flammable material (high grass, wood fabrics, loose clothing, etc.). Allow three (3) feet on all sides and 10 feet on top. Never store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids near the cooker while in use.

14. Use as a cooking appliance only. Never use a pot or pan smaller or larger than the grill design can accommodate. Use only large stockpots with a high pressure cooker.

Cooker Assembly

1-Burner:

§ Burner assembly is fully installed.

§ Insure that all burner assembly connections are tight and in working order. Check tightness of burner cap before each use.

§ Use an adjustable wrench or a 7/8” wrench to tighten regulator to tank or to disposable bottle adapter fitting.

Single Burner Cooker:

§ On high pressure Model SB – 125 the valve is replaced by an adjustable regulator. Tighten regulator to tank with 7/8” wrench or adjustable wrench.

To Set Up Your Cooker:

1. ALWAYS USE THIS COOKER OUTDOORS, NEVER INSIDE HOMES, TENTS, CAMPERS, OR ANY OTHER ENCLOSED, UNVENTILATED AREAS, OVERHANGS OR CARPORTS.

2. Check that hoses and fittings are tight and in good condition without any leaks or kinks before set up. Replace, tighten or repair any irregular fitting parts.

3. Attach regulator to propane tank by inserting the threaded end of the connector into the propane tank valve and tighten by using the hand wheel. Tighten by turning counter-clockwise. If handwheel is not provided, use a 7/8” wrench or adjustable wrench.

4. Arrange your propane tank and hoses so that the hoses will not at any time come in contact with cooker while unit is hot. Also be sure that the hoses and tank are placed where pets or people could not trip over them while using this unit, DO NOT PLACE TANK DIRECTLY UNDER COOKING UNIT.

5. BEFORE LIGHTING OR COOKING ENSURE THAT THE UNIT IS STABLE AND ON LEVEL GROUND OR SURFACE.

6. Check that the valve or adjustable regulator is in the off position. Turn gas on at tank, then check for leaks with soapy water, tighten, repair or replace any fittings or hoses that are leaking, loose or damaged.

To Light Your Cooker After Set Up:

1. Be sure the valve is off.

2. Open propane tank valve.

3. Rotate air shutter until 50-75% opens the air shutter adjusts gas-air mixture.

4. Place a long lighted match or long nose gas match through lighting and observation hole on the side of cooker drum, and slowly open valve or adjustable regulator. Burner should light within a few seconds. Should burner fail to light, turn valve off and wait five (5) minutes before attempting to light the cooker again. (NOTE: NEVER STAND OR LEAN OVER BURNER WHEN LIGHTING BURNER, REMAIN AT ARM’S LENGTH DURING THE LIGHTING PROCEDURE).

5. Adjust valve or adjustable regulator to desired heat setting.

6. Adjust air shutter until the flame is blue with slightly yellow tips. If air shutter adjustment fails to yield desired flame, turn gas off at tank and check burner air intake ports and venture for blockage to proper airflow.

To Use Your Camp Chef:

1. ALWAYS KEEP CHILDREN AND PETS AWAY FROM COOKER WHEN LIGHTED AND IN USE.

2. Only use cookware suitable for your outdoor propane cooker.

3. Do not attempt to heat a dry aluminum stockpot.

4. When using your cooker remember, as with other appliances, you must experiment and learn to adjust the flame and cooking times to suit your individual preference. Weather conditions may also vary the performance of the cooker. (NOTE: In case of rain turn unit off and cover hot food/oil/water with lid. DO NOT attempt to move cooker while hot oil/food/water is on it).

5. Prepare foods for cooking before lighting cooker. For best results, and to prevent splatter when cooking with hot oil, frozen foods should be thawed to room temperature.
